- with web design
I have been designing websites for some years now, with the first one being my own band’s website. I have slowly built on my knowledge and understanding of the internet and web development, and experience has shown that successful web developers must have:
- A fundamental understanding of how the web and its services work.
- A comprehensive knowledge of the latest HTML, XHTML and XML technologies.
- Mastered CSS stylesheets for modern browsers.
- Understood the importance of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).
- Realised the importance of cross-browser compliance and compatibility.
- Learnt to create dynamic Javascript pages, as well as accommodated for Noscript browsers.
- A working knowledge of server side scripting.
- Accommodated for all visitors, ensuring accessibility is a priority.
- A good eye for design.
I endeavour to make all of the aforementioned my strengths, and ensure that each and every website I design and build reflects upon this.
Here is a list of the technologies and languages that I regularly use, linking to a Wikipedia article incase you want to learn more.
XHTML, HTML, XML, CSS, DOM, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, OOP, SEO, SSH, CMS, Apache, SVN, Objective-C, Cocoa, Photoshop, Linux, Mac OS X
